Local donations
of protective gear
Two local organizations donated personal protective equipment (PPE) to Day Kimball Healthcare and first responders.
The Woodstock Academy’s Health Services department, led by Bobbie-Jo Saucier, realized they had protective gear on hand. Because the students are now gone, Head of School Chris Sandford and Saucier knew the extra supplies could be of use to local healthcare professionals. The academy donated gloves, gowns and masks to Deborah Richards, emergency management director of Eastford, and Erica Chrzan, EMS captain of the Woodstock Volunteer Fire Association, and the town of Union through Fire Chief David Eaton and to Day Kimball Hospital through their donation email This email address is being protected from spambots. QVCC is donating personal protective equipment and supplies to help frontline workers at Day Kimball Healthcare — disposable gloves and gowns, lab coats, masks, and safety glasses. The supplies come from the science department and certified nursing assistant, medical assisting, medical laboratory technician, and phlebotomy programs which are unable to run lab courses this spring.
“The College is happy to provide our community partner, Day Kimball Healthcare, with the supplies we are unable to use due to the closure of our physical locations,” said Rose R. Ellis, Ph.D, QVCC Campus CEO.
